


Luckily, he had a backup from 3 weeks earlier that I could use to recover most of his lost data - otherwise, what seemed a simple upgrade of the Mac would have resulted in the loss of so much. Unfortunately, he had not taken a new backup before doing this upgrade. He had upgraded to macOS Catalina without realising the impact it would have on his Mac's older software.
