In 2014, Capcom announced, by popular demand, they'd be releasing what was initially a Nintendo-only title (the game having been ported, along with Resident Evil Zero to the Wii) for the current generation consoles and Steam this HD Remaster was released on November 27th in Japan and January 20th in the US/EU. The Remake boasts improved graphics, new environments, better voice acting, and closer ties to the chronologically later games in the series. It retells the story of the original Resident Evil about a special law enforcement task force who found themselves trapped inside a gigantic mansion filled with zombies and monsters. In Extreme Battle, Ada Wong starts the mini game with the Bow Gun in her inventory.Resident Evil (often called Resident Evil: Remake or simply REmake within the fandom) is the 2002 third-person survival horror game remake of the original 1996 video game developed and published by Capcom, and was first released for the Nintendo GameCube. In Scenario B, it can be found in the weapon cabinet of the S.T.A.R.S.In Scenario A, it can be picked up from the corpse of Robert Kendo in his gunshop and found later in the police station's rear car park cabin. The Bow Gun can be found in different places depending on the scenario being played: The Bowgun is not as effective with larger enemies such as Lickers, although interestingly the bowgun's silent firing can sometimes confuse these sightless creatures. The Bowgun is unable to decapitate or split enemies in two, but can kill a zombie in one shot at close range as long as all three bolts hit. It does however benefit from a slightly faster firing speed than the shotgun.

This weapon is roughly a weaker version of Leon's Shotgun, as it is a close range weapon with the potential to hit several enemies at once, carrying up to 18 bolts and firing them in a spread of three bolts at a time.
